Birds of North America acknowledges that both our store and studio are on the traditional land of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit.

We recognize that it’s a continuous process to seek the truth of the history of this land, what events and processes have brought us all to live here, and what place we each have in its history. We will continue to listen and educate ourselves to better understand and honour the Indigenous peoples who cared for, lived and worked on this land long before we were here.
